Our church supports A Door of Hope Crisis Pregnancy Center and Prison Outreach of Delaware.  Both ministries are doing important work.

  • Women facing difficult decisions and an unknown future.
  • Men who made bad decisions and regret past mistakes.

Both ministries held their annual banquets recently.  We heard reports of lives changed and God’s faithfulness.

Do I appreciate that we who support these ministries and we who receive grace from them are the same?

The Apostle Paul warns Christians in Corinth (1Cor6) there is a laundry list of people and sins who will not inherit the Kingdom of God.  You, Paul says, were part of that list until you were washed, sanctified and justified in the name of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.

Yes, I understand God is gracious to me.  Now what?

If we kept reading Paul’s advice to the Corinthians, he’d say use your new-found freedom, rights, and privileges to serve others and show the world what life in Christ looks like.

Be humble and love others.

If we cannot, Paul warns, we are in for a dangerous surprise.  Lord Jesus, help us stay humble and loving towards all.
